This 1-day workshop meets EPA's hazardous waste and DOT's hazardous materials requirements for operations personnel who handle and ship hazardous waste. It includes security awareness training.
Generating/Shipping teaches hands-on procedures and practical how-to's. We teach the complete operational requirements in easy to understand terms.We cover only those areas that employees need to know.
What You'll Learn:
This workshop provides complete training for the hands-on employee. Students will learn how to:
- Identify materials which might be regulated as an EPA hazardous waste;
- Manage hazardous wastes under the accumulation rules;
- Correctly mark & label wastes for accumulation/shipment;
- Determine whether a release or incident might be "reportable";
- Describe his or her role in emergency response;
- Ensure correct DOT packaging;
- Identify manifesting errors;
- Work with carriers to “offer” a shipment;
- Increase security awareness to keep shipments safe from terrorist threats.
