Lion Launches 3 COVID-19 Training Courses to Help Meet State Standards
To protect workers from exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace, many states have released regulations, directives, and orders aimed at employers in recent weeks. While each state's plan is unique, employee training and education is a major element of all of them.
In Virginia, for example, employers are required to provide COVID-19 training for employees by August 26.
So far, other states with COVID-19 training standards in place for employers include California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington.

Under the OSH Act, employers must address all recognized hazards in their workplace, including infectious diseases like COVID-19. In addition, many states have issued policies, regulations, and directives that require employers to train workers and take steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at work. Absent a Federal OSHA standard concerning COVID-19 training, more states will likely create their own policies soon.
By providing reliable, up to date training and guidance about COVID-19, you can ensure that employees who return to work feel informed, protected, and confident.
