Today, we’ll take a by-the-numbers look at how EPA enforced environmental laws in 2017 and compare these results to EPA’s FY 2016 enforcement report.

*The value of administrative penalties can fluctuate year-by-year due to extremely large penalties in some years for highly-publicized violations—e.g. major oil spills, CERCLA settlements, and the like.
