Orlando Hazmat Training on August 16–18
The City Beautiful plays host to Lion Technology’s DOT and IATA hazmat training workshops on August 16—18! Join us to develop a step-by-step process to safely prepare and offer hazmat shipments, by ground and air, in full compliance with the latest 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) and the 2021 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).
Lion instructors are thrilled to get back in the classroom and connect with new and returning hazardous materials professionals. When in-person DOT hazmat training returns to Orlando, Lion will adhere to all Federal, State, and local protocols to protect student health and safety.

Do you or your employees classify and name hazardous materials? Select, assemble, fill, or close packages? Mark, label, or placard packages or vehicles? Do you fill out and/or sign shipping papers? Or load or unload hazardous materials?
If you do, join us for DOT and IATA hazmat training in O-Town! US DOT requires hazmat training for all “hazmat employees,” defined in the HMR as anyone whose actions can directly affect the safe transportation of hazardous materials (49 CFR 171.8).
For new hazmat employees, DOT requires training within 90 days of hire or assignment. Recurrent hazmat training is required at least once every three years (49 CFR 172.704). Failure to provide hazmat training for employees can subject your site to a minimum civil penalty of $508 per employee, per day.
At the two-day DOT Hazmat Ground Shipper Certification Workshop in Orlando, we will cover mandated training elements for all hazmat employees: General awareness, security awareness, and function-specific hazmat training. On August 18, join us to learn the unique, additional IATA DGR requirements you must know to offer hazmat air shipments by cargo or passenger aircraft with major airlines, including UPS and FedEx.
Lion’s hazmat instructors teach using every-day language and relatable, real world examples to help you get comfortable navigating and using the domestic and international regulations that impact your hazmat shipments.
When you attend Lion’s Orlando hazmat classes, you also get 365 days of Lion Membership. Members can use the Lion Finder Service™ to submit EH&S questions and get help finding answers from Lion instructors and subject matter experts.
Plus, access 49 CFR hazardous materials regulations updated throughout the year. Login to the recently redesigned Lion.com Member Area to check out exclusive FAQs; white papers, reports, guides, and videos to help you stay ahead of regulatory changes year around. When regulations change that impact you, you will receive a Member Bulletin alert, so you never miss a crucial update.
