DOT's Virtual Hazardous Materials R&D Forum Starts Oct. 12
US DOT PHMSA’s Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (OHMS) will host a virtual Research, Development & Technology Forum on October 12-15, 2021.
During the Forum, PHMSA will present the results of recently completed projects and a brief summary of new project plans. The Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (OHMS) announced the meeting in the September 23 Federal Register.
Hazardous materials professionals and others who would like to attend should complete the online pre-registration form. Meeting details
OHMS is most interested in comments and information concerning:
- Research gaps associated with explosives characterization and transport,
- Safe transportation of energy products like crude oil,
- Containment and transportation of compressed gases, and
- Packaging requirements for lithium-ion batteries and related devices.
OHMS is also interested in other research gaps related to the transportation of hazardous materials.
