OSHA's Narrowed PSM Retail Exemption Now On Hold
In a regulatory interpretation issued July 22, 2015, OSHA narrowed the exemption from its Process Safety Management (PSM) Standard for retail facilities. Before this memo was issued, OSHA’s PSM “retail exemption” applied to facilities that “generate more than 50% of their income from direct sales of chemicals to end users.”9/6/2016

OSHA Delays Anti-Retaliation Provisions of New Reporting Rule
OSHA has delayed enforcement of anti-retaliatory provisions in its new injury and illness reporting rule for employers. Under the new rule, announced in May, employers must report annually the injury and illness data collected on forms like the OSHA 300, 300A, and 301.
