PHMSA Proposes Terminating M- and R-Hazmat Packaging Approvals
In the Federal Register this week, PHMSA proposed to terminate approvals issued to packaging manufacturers and reconditioners, known as M- or R-numbers. The M- and R-numbers eliminated will be those PHMSA issued without an expiration date.10/6/2017
PHMSA Waives HMR Requirements for Hurricane Maria Disaster Areas
The US DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) last week issued emergency Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) compliance waivers for persons performing recovery or cleanup work in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands under the direction of US EPA Region 2 or the US Coast Guard.9/25/2017
PHMSA Issues 3 Emergency Hazmat Compliance Waivers for Hurricane-affected Areas
PHMSA on Monday issued Emergency Waivers for persons conducting EPA-directed recovery and cleanup operations in areas affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma. This waiver will provide reprieve from compliance requirements under the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) under certain conditions.8/28/2017
