This HAZWOPER training is intended for managers or supervisors of site workers described in 29 CFR 1910.120 paragraph (e), who work at “uncontrolled hazardous waste sites” like Superfund sites or other hazardous substance cleanup sites.

This course may be used to help satisfy initial HAZWOPER training mandates at 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4) and (e)(8)


How much HAZWOPER training do supervisors need?
29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4) requires supervisors and on-site managers who supervise hazardous waste cleanup operations to receive:

  • 40 hours of initial HAZWOPER training (may be reduced to 24 hours in some cases)

  • 8 hours of additional training on specialized supervisor topics

  • Three days of supervised field experience
