Webinar Training FAQ

Live, instructor-led webinars provide the convenience of online training with the engagement and interaction found at Lion’s public workshops. Learn the latest rules, meet your training mandates, and earn CEUs from the comfort of your home or office.  Need training for your group? Enroll all of your team members and view the webinar together to ensure consistent training across the board.

How do I enroll in a webinar?
To register individuals, go to the Course Catalog to select a course. Our user-friendly, secure shopping cart allows you to enroll yourself or your employees in an upcoming webinar.

Or, you can call 888-546-6511, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, and our Registration Staff will be happy to help you.

If you have a large group, you can request a group quote online or call 888-546-6511 ext. 411 to discuss your needs with a Lion group training coordinator.
What do I need to connect?
To connect to a webinar, you need only a computer with an active Internet connection. When you join the webinar, you can choose to listen through a phone line or your computer’s speakers.
How do Lion webinars work?
Our webinars are presented live by an expert Lion instructor. The presentation slides are viewed online, and audio is delivered through a phone connection or through your computer’s speakers.
Do I need printed reference materials to complete my webinar?
IATA and IMDG Webinars
Students must have current edition(s) of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and/or the IMDG Code to successfully complete Lion's Hazmat Air Shipper Certification (IATA) and/or Hazmat Vessel Shipper Certification (IMDG) webinar. Copies will automatically be added to your shopping cart when adding one of these courses, or can be obtained separately at Lion.com/Books.

All Other Webinars
Webinars include comprehensive digital resources that are yours to keep. Physical Desk Reference Sets provided at Lion classroom style workshops are available for select web-based courses and will be an invaluable on-the-job resource after your web-based training is complete. Purchasing printed training materials is optional as they are not required to complete the webinar.

Note: Our digital resources are updated on a regular basis. We recommend using your digital materials during the webinar, as the training may refer to page numbers, exhibits, or other items that do not exactly match the physical books. We will not provide a refund or exchange for any publication or reference products. Please review this information carefully before you make a purchase.
How do I ask a question during the webinar?
Because phone lines are often muted to reduce background noise during webinar presentations, questions can be asked through a chat box available to all attendees.  Questions can be directed to the presenter only, to maintain students' privacy.
What time does my webinar start?
Each webinar page on Lion.com lists the start time of upcoming sessions.  When you register for a Lion webinar, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that includes the start time as well as instructions for testing your PC and logging in to participate. All times listed are on Eastern time.
How do I download course materials for a webinar?
You will find webinar materials like the course Compliance Reference, workbooks, and exercises at the bottom of the webinar launch page in the Lion.com Training Portal.

Login here: Training Portal
  • Find your webinar under the Online Courses & Webinars tab. Click Go To Class.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to find links to your course materials.
Above the course materials links, you will see the date on which the materials were last updated.
How is testing done for webinars?
When the webinar is complete, the "Certification Quiz" link on the webinar launch page will be active.  Return to the launch page and click "Certification Quiz."  Upon successful completion, you will receive an e-mail detailing how to access and print your Certificate of Achievement.
Do I still get a certificate if my webinar does not include a quiz?
Some Lion.com webinars are presented for informational purposes and do not include testing. For informational webinars, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Will training with Lion help me maintain my professional certifications?
Lion offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs), calculated based on training hours, which can be submitted for approval to help you maintain certification from organizations including: AHMP, ABIH, IHMM, NEHA, CCMP, and others.

While these groups typically do not pre-approve training programs that offer certification points, professionals can submit Lion CEUs for approval from their certifying organization.
Can I view the webinar with a group of colleagues at my facility?
To attend the webinar as a group, each individual participant must be registered. To earn CEUs and receive a Certificate of Achievement from Lion Technology, each attendee must complete the webinar quiz (if applicable). The price displayed on webinar pages and promotions is the cost per attendee.

If you choose to attend the webinar as a group, we ask that you let us know by e-mail (support@Lion.com) in advance of the webinar. This way we can take accurate attendance and ensure each eligible member of your group receives his or her Certificate of Achievement.

Can I make copies of or share the webinar training materials?
No. Only registered participants may use the training materials provided for Lion Technology Inc. webinars. Distribution of Lion Technology course materials to any individual other than yourself is a direct violation of the terms and conditions accepted at the time of registration.
